What is Staging?

The Real Estate Staging Association® (RESA®, the trade association for professional real estate stagers) defines staging as, the act of preparing and showcasing residential or commercial property for sale. It is a systematic and coordinated methodology in which knowledge of real estate, home renovations, and creative design principles are applied to attract a buyer.

Why Should I Stage?

Professionally Staged Properties:

  • Look better than other homes on the market

  • Spend 73% less time on the market

  • Typically sell for more money

  • Look better in print and Internet ads

  • Receive more foot traffic

  • End up on a buyer's "must see" list

  • Are viewed by buyers as "well maintained"

  • Are "move-in” ready

  • Have fewer reasons for buyers to ask for concessions

  • Professionally staged listings "STAND-OUT" in prospective buyers' mind

What is the difference between Staging and Decorating?

  • Real estate staging is not the same as decorating. The goal is to merchandise and market your home so that it attracts the most buyers. Staging shows buyers the property's true potential.

How much does Home Staging cost?

  • Fees can range from  $150 to $5,000 or more, depending on square footage and the number of rooms staged. It will depend on whether the home is vacant or occupied,  and how much, if any, rental furniture and/or accessories will be needed.

  • There is a staging solution for every budget - from DIY to full service.

  • The cost of staging will likely be far less than the cost of your first price reduction.
